Senior Cost Manager - Data Centre Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our high-performance team on a hybrid basis in Helsinki, Finland. This Senior Cost Manager remote position is crucial for supporting a leading global hyperscaler through all post-contract phases of construction on a mission-critical programme. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for full post-contract commercial management on major data centre builds, ensuring cost, commercial, and contractual governance throughout the lifecycle of Project X.

What You'll Do

• Lead all post-contract cost management activities across a large-scale hyperscale data centre project.
• Manage cost reporting, forecasting, cashflow, and budget control.
• Oversee change management, variations, claims, and commercial risk analysis.
• Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
• Support procurement, contract administration, valuations, and final account processes.
• Conduct regular site engagement to validate progress, costs, and contractor performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project controls, engineering, and delivery teams.
• Contribute to business growth by supporting wider team development and regional expansion.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in cost management / quantity surveying.
• Strong post-contract experience on data centre or high-tech industrial projects (essential).
• Demonstrable experience working directly with hyperscalers or tier-one contractors.
• Comprehensive understanding of cost drivers for complex MEP-intensive projects.
• Proficiency with major contract forms (FIDIC, NEC, JCT or equivalent).
• Advanced commercial, analytical, and reporting capability.
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while contributing to business growth.
