Senior Cloud Engineer - Azure & Kubernetes Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, automating, and evolving secure and scalable cloud platforms that support a large-scale microservices ecosystem. This position is Azure-first, with opportunities to work with AWS, allowing you to deliver software efficiently through Kubernetes-based platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Define network architectures, autoscaling strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform with reusable modules.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work and improve operational consistency.
  • Implement policy-as-code using tools such as OPA, Conftest, and tfsec.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams on CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and platform reliability.
  • Implement cloud governance, identity, access control, and secrets management.
  • Design and operate observability solutions (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes (AKS) at scale.
  • Proven experience building reusable Terraform modules.
  • Solid knowledge of Helm and advanced Kubernetes concepts.
  • Experience with Azure networking (VNETs, Private Link, Load Balancers, Firewalls, WAF).
  • CI/CD pipelines experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitOps).
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Advanced English (C1/C2) required for daily collaboration with teams in the U.S. and Canada.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry).
  • Familiarity with security and identity management (Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities, PIM).
