Senior Backend Engineer - Mobile Gaming Development

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Gear Games. As a Senior Backend Engineer remote, you will be instrumental in designing and optimizing scalable, high-performance systems that power our mobile games and web projects. With the opportunity to work in a fun and international environment, you will contribute to the development of robust backend solutions that enhance our gaming ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement new game features on the server-side, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Identify, debug, and resolve backend issues to maintain smooth and stable operations.
• Collaborate with game developers, frontend engineers, and other teams to effectively integrate backend solutions.
• Support various backend tasks as needed, adapting to project requirements and management direction.
• Utilize your strong knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure to enhance our backend infrastructure.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a backend engineer, with proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL relational databases, including table design, query optimization, and procedure creation.
• Familiarity with No-SQL databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of caching databases such as Redis or Memcache.
• Strong communication skills in English and a proactive, can-do attitude towards technical challenges.

Nice to Have

• Experience with system monitoring and AWS CI/CD deployment.
• Development experience in mobile games.
• Familiarity with APIs and system optimization.
• Experience working on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of AI tools to support development.
