Senior AWS DevOps Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team remotely in Canada. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the product owner and a team of software engineers to ensure that our SaaS product meets industry-leading standards of quality. As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial part in developing, delivering, and maintaining features that enhance our infrastructure and customer-facing applications.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK to define infrastructure with modern programming languages.
  • Design and deploy scalable, highly available, secure, and fault-tolerant systems in AWS.
  • Ensure compliance and maintain high-performance production environments.
  • Write clean, testable code to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.
  • Actively participate in team planning to improve velocity and quality.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
  • Perform infrastructure upgrades and updates to maximize system efficiency while minimizing downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS services, including CloudFormation, Auto Scaling, ECS, and Serverless architectures.
  • Deep expertise in AWS CDK and hands-on experience with TypeScript, C#, or Java.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience in a compliant environment (e.g., CJIS, FedRAMP, or SOC2) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Strong cloud fundamentals with an emphasis on AWS Well-Architected best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, MSBuild, and Git.
