Senior AI Security Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Menlo Security is seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior AI Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in addressing the emerging security challenges posed by autonomous AI agents. Your expertise will help us protect our clients, including Fortune 500 companies and major banks, from sophisticated cyber threats. This position is pivotal in ensuring secure interactions between AI agents and untrusted web content.

What You'll Do

• Research emerging agentic threats, including prompt injection and context manipulation.
• Architect scalable workflows that secure agent-to-web interactions.
• Develop novel detection and mitigation techniques for identifying malicious prompts and unsafe contextual signals.
• Implement security controls within agentic runtimes to ensure safe reasoning over external data sources.
• Collaborate with applied engineers to integrate security mechanisms into production systems.
• Continuously evaluate the AI threat landscape and anticipate future risks.
• Build defensive mechanisms to detect and neutralize complex context poisoning attempts.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science or significant experience in high-scale cloud engineering; MSc or PhD is a strong advantage.
• 3+ years of experience in applied AI, with a proven track record of deploying high-scale AI systems in production.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and deep experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native orchestration.
• Significant experience in cybersecurity or browser-related technologies is highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering techniques and their exploitation in agentic systems.
• Able to explore ambiguous problem spaces and iterate towards effective security solutions.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks like LangChain or AutoGen.
• Experience building immutable event streams and high-speed data pipelines for real-time traffic analysis.
• Understanding of web page rendering and programmatic manipulation of the DOM for enhanced security.
• A “security-first” mindset with a bias towards building auditable and fault-tolerant systems.
