About the Role

We're hiring a Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team at Pasta Evangelists. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our food offerings are prepared to the highest standards. This position is essential for maintaining an efficient kitchen operation, and you will be working in a fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly impact our customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and set up the kitchen for each service, ensuring all ingredients are ready for quick service while minimizing food wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
• Document food information and ensure stock rotation principles (FIFO) are followed.
• Utilize Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maximize food quality and readiness.
• Prepare and cook food according to Pasta Evangelists’ standards, following the "How to Cards" for consistency.
• Check deliveries and report any discrepancies to the Team Leader or Manager.
• Operate the wash-up area effectively and ensure all equipment is cleaned thoroughly.
• Follow waste management processes and report any equipment defects promptly.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safe food handling and preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented approach to food preparation and kitchen organization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to adapt to changing situations and schedules in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
• Basic knowledge of food safety regulations.
