About the Role

We're hiring a Senior AI-Native Django Engineer to join our innovative healthcare startup. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of our platform while working remotely as you transition to San Francisco. As a Senior AI-Native Django Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of integrating AI methodologies into our development processes.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full stack end-to-end, managing a Django monolith with Celery-based horizontal scaling and a React frontend.
  • Implement AI-driven coding methodologies to enhance efficiency and output quality.
  • Take responsibility for production ownership, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Orchestrate multiple AI agents for tasks such as refactoring, test generation, and debugging.
  • Make critical infrastructure decisions and handle outages effectively.

Requirements

  • 7-8+ years of engineering experience, particularly with Django.
  • Strong hands-on experience with large and complex monoliths.
  • Familiarity with Celery or similar task queue systems.
  • Solid competency in React for frontend development.
  • A genuine AI-native workflow experience, actively structuring work around AI agents.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (HIPAA, PHI).
  • Familiarity with LangGraph or LLM orchestration frameworks.
  • Knowledge of LLM observability tools (LangFuse, Helicone, Braintrust).
