About the Role

Join Heartstrings Pet Hospice as a Remote Veterinarian and experience fulfillment like never before. This role allows you to reconnect with pet families and provide compassionate care in the comfort of their homes. With an average of only 3-4 appointments per day, you will have the time to truly make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.

What You'll Do

  • Provide in-home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets.
  • Guide families in making end-of-life decisions for their beloved pets.
  • Build relationships with local veterinary clinics, serving as an extension of their excellent care.
  • Participate in team-building activities and retreats to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Enjoy schedule flexibility, with options for 2-5 days of work per week, primarily between 9 am and 5 pm.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS) required.
  • 1+ years of experience as a practicing veterinarian.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. assisted.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of driving and physical activities such as walking, kneeling, and bending.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in hospice or palliative care.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with pet families.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
