About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Staff Engineer to join our Migration Tools team. This role is pivotal in enhancing customer experiences by developing and maintaining tools that facilitate transitions to GitHub and across various devices. As a Remote Staff Engineer, you will collaborate with a globally distributed team, ensuring our solutions are scalable and high-performing.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor team members to produce high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements and technical solutions.
• Develop and guide testing plans to assure solution quality and define success metrics.
• Drive project plans and release schedules ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Apply debugging tools to verify assumptions and optimize code performance.
• Analyze complex data to enhance products and support engineering decisions.
• Maintain live service operations and develop incident resolution playbooks.
• Enhance internal tools and processes while promoting the use of AI technologies.
• Develop and maintain a technical roadmap aligned with product goals.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale system architecture, particularly in cloud environments.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and balancing priorities.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for leveraging AI tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
