About the Role
We are looking for a Remote Server Engineer to join our innovative team at Cognizant. In this role, you will be part of leading-edge technology projects, focusing on cloud infrastructure and security services. As a Remote Server Engineer, you will engage in end-to-end solutions that cover architecture, design, implementation, management, and ongoing support across the entire enterprise technology infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support infrastructure-related PoC/RFP/RFE initiatives across diverse platforms.
- Administer applications with full lifecycle ownership, ensuring seamless request flow and network integration.
- Manage and troubleshoot network and security configurations including routers, switches, load balancers, proxies, firewalls, DMZ setups, IPs, ports, subnets, MAC addresses, and authentication protocols (RBAC, Kerberos, SSO, LDAP, AD).
- Perform server administration across Windows, Linux, Mac, and vendor ecosystems (e.g., CA, BMC, IBM DataPower).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Shell to streamline operations.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Engage with stakeholders and customers to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
- Support and troubleshoot IoT/OT devices across multiple platforms (Android, Windows, Linux, Unix, iOS).
Requirements
- Strong expertise in networking, security, and multi-OS server administration (Windows, Linux, Mac) with hands-on experience in firewalls, load balancers, proxies, DMZ, and authentication protocols.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash/Shell, and solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
- Experience supporting IoT/OT devices across platforms, applying security-by-design controls, and maintaining compliance with hygiene and patching standards.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, vendor collaboration, troubleshooting skills, and ability to operate effectively in globally distributed teams.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in network/security/cloud technologies (e.g., CCNA, AWS, Azure, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience in BFSI or Capital Markets domain is highly desirable.
