Remote Principal Security Engineer - Cloud & Infrastructure

About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Principal Security Engineer to join our team at Auros, a leading global digital asset liquidity provider. In this role, you'll implement and operate security controls across our infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are resilient and secure. As a hands-on engineer, you'll engage directly with our Infrastructure and Engineering teams to enhance our security posture while maintaining operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Implement and maintain security controls across multi-cloud environments, primarily AWS and Azure, with some GCP and AliCloud.
• Own the IAM strategy and implementation, designing and enforcing secure, scalable, and practical identity, access, and permissions models.
• Design and operate key management and custody security controls to protect sensitive data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to harden cloud environments and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring that security measures are effective yet unobtrusive.
• Develop and deploy security improvements across corporate and production systems.
• Engage with senior leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives.
• Continuously monitor and assess the security landscape to adapt to emerging threats.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and frameworks.
• Experience with IAM, key management, and security controls in multi-cloud environments.
• Proficiency in coding and scripting for security automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the crypto or digital asset space.
• Familiarity with security compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
