About the Role

At Satelligence, we're looking for a Remote Junior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building out the capabilities of our (geo)data query engine, contributing to our mission of providing critical sustainability insights. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a supportive and innovative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Optimize data pipelines for processing and storing massive datasets (ETL, OLAP).
  • Develop and manage APIs for efficient data dissemination.
  • Implement data engineering best practices for data quality, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to understand their needs and provide technical guidance.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data storage solutions using PostgreSQL.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform performance to ensure high availability.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Python developer.
  • Familiarity with RDBMS, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of Django framework.
  • Preference for a well-organized codebase over quick pull request merges.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with a preference for remote work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud services (Cloud SQL, Cloud Composer, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with PostGIS or geospatial data.
