Remote FISMA FedRAMP Senior Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote FISMA FedRAMP Senior Consultant to join our dynamic team at A-LIGN External. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and leading client engagements, assigning work, reviewing team contributions, and ensuring quality reports are provided. As a Senior Consultant, you will lead engagements through effective project execution, client service activities, and mentoring junior staff. This is a unique opportunity to influence methodology development and technical assessment strategies while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Lead assessments from initiation to project closure, ensuring thorough planning and execution.
• Conduct process walkthroughs and lead findings discussions to align expectations with clients.
• Provide regular status updates to both internal teams and clients to maintain transparency.
• Coach team members and assessors, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Drive working sessions with clients to ensure timelines are met and expectations are clear.
• Execute security assessments in accordance with NIST SP 800-53, 800-37, 800-171, and other authoritative IT security guidance.
• Develop Security Authorization Packages, ensuring compliance with FedRAMP requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, information security, computer science, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in information security with strong familiarity with NIST standards.
• Experience leading FISMA and FedRAMP assessments is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in a consulting role.
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and federal compliance.
