Remote Finance Officer - Empower Youth Employment

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote Finance Officer to join our team at GOAL Uganda. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Finance Coordinator with various financial tasks, contributing to the Agrifood System Transformation for Youth Employment (ASTYE) program. This initiative focuses on creating dignified work opportunities for financially disadvantaged young women, refugees, and vulnerable groups in Uganda. As a Remote Finance Officer, you will help facilitate financial reporting and ensure compliance with donor requirements, directly impacting the lives of thousands of young Ugandans.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Finance Coordinator with donor reporting requirements and financial documentation.
• Follow up on payments to private sector actors and ensure timely processing.
• Prepare field funds transfers to remote field offices efficiently.
• Process payments for remote field offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support the partnership compliance team with due diligence and ad hoc finance requirements.
• Review scanned documents for MasterCard financial reporting and follow up as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in nonprofit or development sectors.
• Familiarity with donor compliance and reporting standards.
• Knowledge of Uganda's agrifood system and youth employment challenges.
