About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist to join our team at Placemakr. This role is essential in fostering a fair, compliant, and positive workplace culture. As a Remote Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist, you will partner closely with our Business Partnerships team, Legal, and business leaders to address employee relations matters, ensure adherence to employment laws and internal policies, and proactively mitigate risk. This position allows you to work remotely, provided you have access to a workspace and reliable Wi-Fi.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for all Tier 4 employee relations cases, conducting impartial and thorough investigations.
  • Document findings and recommend appropriate actions based on investigations.
  • Advise managers on workplace policies and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Support the Business Partnerships team with performance management processes, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and policies in alignment with legal requirements.
  • Partner with Legal on compliance-related matters as needed.
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation related to employment compliance.
  • Track changes in employment law and provide practical guidance for the organization.
  • Facilitate training programs related to employee relations and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in employee relations, HR compliance, or a related HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive situations.
  • HR certification preferred (SHRM, PHR).
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
