Remote Data Analyst - Transforming Criminal Justice Data

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Remote Data Analyst to join our mission-driven team at Recidiviz. In this role, you will leverage your analytical skills to transform criminal justice data into actionable insights, contributing to meaningful change in the community. As a Remote Data Analyst, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making processes.

What You'll Do

• Analyze complex datasets using tools such as SQL, Python, and Tableau to derive insights that inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure data integrity and usability in product design.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that visualize key metrics and trends in criminal justice data.
• Utilize statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to forecast outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders, translating data into actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a relevant field, with a strong focus on data visualization and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the criminal justice sector or with nonprofit organizations.
• Familiarity with human-centered design principles.
• Knowledge of fundraising and donor relationship management.
