Technical Manager - Hard Services Compliance & Assurance

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Manager - Hard Services Compliance & Assurance to join our team at ABM. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while providing technical governance and compliance assurance across our hard services portfolio. As a senior authority, you will influence outcomes and ensure our services are safe and compliant.

What You'll Do

• Act as a senior technical authority for hard services compliance across the ABM UK portfolio.
• Hold formal technical appointments aligned to competence and business needs.
• Define and apply statutory and best-practice standards across diverse operational environments.
• Lead technical audits and compliance reviews across multiple accounts.
• Provide technical leadership during bid and transition phases to ensure compliance from Day One.
• Develop and maintain ABM’s hard services technical standards and compliance frameworks.
• Provide coaching and guidance to site engineers and operational leaders.
• Act as a trusted advisor on hard services compliance matters.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a senior technical authority within hard services or FM environments.
• Formally appointed Authorised Person (AP), Senior Authorised Person (SAP), or Authorising Engineer (AE).
• Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks across electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems.
• Proven experience delivering compliance assurance across large, complex portfolios.
• Excellent technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.
• Willingness to travel nationally as required.

Nice to Have

• Membership of a recognized professional body (IET, CIBSE, IMechE).
• Relevant professional certifications aligned to discipline specialism(s).
