Programming Automation Engineer PLC - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Programming Automation Engineer PLC to join our team at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. This remote opportunity allows you to bring automation to life on real industrial projects with global impact. As a key player in our engineering team, you'll develop PLC software based on process documentation and contribute to the commissioning of automation systems worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Develop PLC software based on process documentation including P&I diagrams and functional descriptions.
• Prepare technical documentation for automation systems using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Commission automation systems at customer sites globally.
• Collaborate with an international team to ensure project success.
• Analyze and read electrical drawings to support system design.

Requirements

• Higher technical education in automation, robotics, or drive technology.
• Experience in automation within iron making plants, electric arc furnaces, ladle furnaces, or water treatment plants.
• Strong programming skills and experience with PLC-based systems, preferably Siemens.
• Knowledge of industrial networks such as Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, and EthernetIP.
• Good command of the English language; additional languages like German are a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in commissioning automation systems.
• Familiarity with the PCS7 system and APL library.
• Knowledge of visualization systems, preferably Siemens WinCC.
