Preventative Maintenance Technician - Automotive Manufacturing
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team at Eldor Automotive Powertrain USA. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our highly automated production facility located in Daleville, Virginia. As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance activities on all production equipment and robotic cells, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime.
What You'll Do
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on production equipment, conveyors, tooling, and automated systems.
- Conduct lubrication, adjustments, inspections, and component replacements as per PM schedules.
- Perform robotic PM tasks including axis greasing and cable inspections.
- Inspect mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for wear or failure risks.
- Document all PM activities accurately in the CMMS system.
- Assist with vibration analysis and thermal inspections to support predictive maintenance.
- Identify early signs of component wear and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support troubleshooting efforts during breakdowns and assist with major repairs as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma & Technical training or 2 years of related experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
- Preferred: Robot-specific training or certification (KUKA, Epson, or Kawasaki).
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- Technical knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and ability to perform precision adjustments.
- Basic electrical skills including reading electrical schematics and safe use of diagnostic tools.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification or experience.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with KUKA and Epson robotic systems.
- Basic troubleshooting experience with Kawasaki robotic systems.
- Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment.
