MSP Tier 1 Technician - Remote Support
About the Role
We are looking for an MSP Tier 1 Technician remote to join our team at BTC Broadband. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer systems and networks. You will ensure that our IT infrastructure is optimized and that users receive timely support. What You'll Do
- Respond to user issues reported via phone or email, using remote access tools whenever possible.
- Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, and network problems for end users.
- Document user issues and troubleshooting processes, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
- Setup IT desks for new employees, including user and email setup, logins, and printer and telephone setup.
- Support network environments, including wired, wireless, VPN, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality.
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies in the IT infrastructure.
- Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in PC, mobile device, and small network installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows and OS desktop operating systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Familiarity with hand tools and portable power tools.
Nice to Have
- Associates or Bachelors in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with VoIP phone systems and MetaSwitch.
- Aptitude for learning new material quickly and taking initiative.
