Mid-Senior .NET Web Developer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior .NET Web Developer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing the PROTECT case management system, enhancing its functionality and performance. As a .NET Web Developer, you will work closely with a dedicated development team to refactor a legacy application, transitioning much of the processing from the client-side to the backend and middleware. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the State of Wisconsin.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the development team to modernize a legacy VB.NET desktop application.
• Implement event handlers to manage asynchronous processes and improve application responsiveness.
• Create and optimize batch jobs for efficient data processing and system performance.
• Integrate event handlers, batch jobs, and message queues with external APIs, services, and third-party systems.
• Work on migrating legacy interfaces to modern services using .NET Core and other .NET technologies.
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party APIs as needed.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient web applications using ASP.NET MVC, Angular, React, or similar front-end frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality software solutions.
• Integrate security controls and defensive programming practices into the .NET codebase.
• Evaluate and recommend security tools and frameworks to enhance the security posture of .NET applications.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on backend development using .NET technologies, including ASP.NET, C#, .NET Core, and Entity Framework.
• Strong experience with database technologies such as SQL Server in hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in server-side event-driven programming and API development (SOAP and REST).
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or React.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and SecureDevOps practices.
• Ability to develop technical specifications and documentation for automated business systems.
• Must be a current resident of Wisconsin; no relocation is allowed.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure SQL and modernizing legacy applications.
• Familiarity with automation testing best practices and tools.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
