About the Role

We are seeking a talented and driven Founding Engineer to join our innovative team at Jobster. This Founding Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to build the core product that powers over 400 independent restaurants. You will be part of a profitable, Tier 1 VC-backed company, with a salary ranging from £70,000 to £100,000 and significant equity options. What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a small, dynamic team to develop and enhance our restaurant operating system.
• Automate legacy processes to reduce manual labor and improve efficiency.
• Utilize your expertise in Typescript for both front-end and back-end development.
• Design and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
• Work with cloud providers to manage live production workloads effectively.
• Write efficient database queries and design schemas that support our applications.
• Leverage the latest tooling, including AI and computer vision, to innovate restaurant workflows.
• Participate in a fast-paced environment where you can turn messy problems into working software quickly.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in shipping and maintaining production-level software.
• Deep understanding of Typescript and proficiency in software design patterns.
• Experience with cloud services and managing production workloads.
• Strong skills in relational databases, including writing queries and designing schemas.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and share techniques that enhance productivity.
• Product-focused mindset, balancing customer needs with technical solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI and computer vision technologies.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
