Mid-Level Systems Engineer - CANES Program (Remote Available)
About the Role
Boarhog LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the CANES Program. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical systems for the Navy's Afloat Tactical Networks, ensuring robust communication and networking capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Apply interdisciplinary engineering skills for technical planning, systems integration, and verification in support of the CANES Program.
- Analyze user requirements and generate performance and functional specifications for CANES networks.
- Develop and validate system concepts and performance specifications against user needs.
- Create CANES architectures that align with DoW enterprise architectures and ensure technology obsolescence is avoided.
- Build and integrate networking and processing capabilities in virtualized environments using emerging technologies.
- Document engineering processes, including technical sequences and flow charts.
- Provide Assessment and Authorization support for Cyber Security initiatives related to CANES.
- Oversee the efforts of junior staff and ensure project goals are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Three years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, particularly with CANES and Afloat Tactical Networks.
- Active DoW Secret Clearance or ability to reactivate a recently archived clearance.
- Preference for candidates residing in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cyber Security protocols and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
- Familiarity with Navy communications systems and engineering documentation.

Who Will Succeed Here
Strong proficiency in Systems Engineering principles, particularly in the context of Cyber Security and Network Architecture, with hands-on experience using tools such as MATLAB or Simulink for modeling and simulation.
