Lead Product Designer - AI & Agentic Workflows
About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Product Designer for AI & Agentic Workflows to join our innovative team at Mural. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of collaboration by integrating AI into our platform. As a Lead Product Designer, you will work remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design systems where users and AI agents work together seamlessly.
What You'll Do
- Utilize code as a primary design tool to explore interactions and system behaviors, particularly for agentic workflows.
- Rapidly prototype concepts using AI-native tools to simulate real interactions, ensuring a user-centered approach.
- Define agent behaviors and communication across workflows, translating complex system interactions into clear, usable experiences.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to evolve prototypes into scalable implementations.
- Create interaction models for human and multi-agent collaboration, focusing on orchestration and shared context.
- Design platform-level components for AI integration, balancing visibility, control, and user autonomy.
- Use Figma and other design tools to document and communicate design decisions effectively.
- Contribute to a culture of learning and lead discussions on AI as a system with behavior and responsibility.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience, particularly in complex desktop consumer or enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted experiences and understanding of agent-based systems.
- Proven ability to contribute to high-quality design systems and product experiences at scale.
- Exceptional craft in visual clarity, motion, and interaction design.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to understand design decisions across user journeys.
- Experience designing for diverse audiences, focusing on accessibility and inclusivity.
- Curiosity and proactive problem-solving skills, with a knack for exploring edge cases.
- Experience working in collaborative, iterative environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with canvas-based or spatial interfaces.
- Background in multi-agent systems or workflow automation.
- Familiarity with concepts like memory, context windows, and agent reasoning.
- History of shaping 0→1 products or platform capabilities.
