Junior Java Software Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Java Software Engineer to join our innovative team at CTI, a Parsons Company. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology solutions that empower end-users to navigate complex environments effectively.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, test, and debug software applications using Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Identify and fix software defects and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.
• Create technical specifications by analyzing conceptual designs and business requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Java, with experience in C# or Python being a plus.
• Previous coding or software development experience through internships or academic projects.
• Active U.S. government Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is necessary to obtain security clearances.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing.
• Experience with container-based software solutions such as Docker.
• Familiarity with microservices and/or distributed computing development.
• GUI development experience with Java Swing or JavaFX.
