About the Role

We are seeking an IT Support Officer to join our dynamic team at SP Group. This IT Support Officer remote position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of energy by supporting our Network Operations Centre (NOC) and ensuring the reliability of our critical systems.

What You'll Do

  • Operate in the Network Operations Centre (NOC) to manage and control batch processes, including troubleshooting as required.
  • Monitor file transfers across internal and external systems, overseeing scheduled batch jobs and responding to alerts or anomalies promptly.
  • Attend to operations job failures, performing first-level investigations and ensuring incident reports are resolved within SLA timelines.
  • Escalate issues to the respective support teams and follow through as necessary.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring of critical systems and infrastructure services through a centralized IT Operations Management system, escalating alerts to prevent service disruptions.
  • Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and security of the Data Centre, reporting any security infringements or emergencies to the supervisor.
  • Support the continuous improvement of operating procedures, ensuring compliance with established operational standards.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Requirements

  • Diploma / Higher NITEC in Information Technology, IT Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT support or operations.
  • Hands-on experience in Data Centre Operations, including batch job processing, backup, and archiving.
  • Operational knowledge of batch job schedulers and IT operations monitoring systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts to support 24x7 operations across multiple data centre locations.
  • Experience in supporting production systems, including making configuration changes to automated batch scheduler systems.
