IT Operations Engineer - Google Workspace Focus

We are looking for a dedicated IT Operations Engineer to join our team at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group. As an IT Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and operational excellence of our central IT services and applications. This position offers the chance to work remotely while being part of a collaborative team that values innovation and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Act as the Product Owner for Google Workspace Enterprise, managing the platform's strategy, governance, and operational improvements.
• Take full ownership of selected central applications and services, ensuring their availability, performance, and operational stability.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, leading technical rollouts of central tools and applications.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex operational issues and implement sustainable fixes.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Operations or Systems Engineering.
• Strong understanding of IT service operations including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Hands-on experience with Google Workspace (Enterprise) administration is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based SaaS environments.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security principles.
• Fluency in German is a plus.
