Data Engineering Manager - Remote Leadership Role

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Data Engineering Manager remote position, you will lead a team of 6–12 data engineers and help them succeed while building and improving our Affiliate Marketing data platform. Your role is to create a collaborative environment where engineers take ownership, learn continuously, and deliver reliable data solutions that support the business.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Guide the team technically, ensuring the delivery of scalable data solutions that align with business goals.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical data solutions.
• Remove blockers and encourage strong engineering practices within the team.
• Manage hiring processes and support career growth for team members.
• Ensure adherence to data governance and security best practices.
• Monitor individual performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, including 5+ years of people management and technical leadership.
• Deep understanding of Ralph Kimball dimensional modeling best practices.
• Experience building and optimizing cloud-based data platforms and scalable data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
• Experience leading and mentoring data engineers within cross-functional teams.
• A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback.
