Infrared Focal Plane Array Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an Infrared Focal Plane Array Engineer to join our innovative team at Lockheed Martin. This remote position offers you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology while contributing to critical missions that demand extraordinary amounts of courage and precision. As an Infrared Focal Plane Array Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and testing infrared focal plane arrays and performing analysis on collected data.

What You'll Do

• Operate computer frame grabbers and test electronics to ensure optimal performance.
• Generate comprehensive test plans to guide testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot electronic test boards and perform electronic design modifications.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate and direct test and systems-related activities.
• Utilize MATLAB for data analysis and signal processing.
• Engage in FPGA and microcontroller programming and usage.
• Collect data from imaging sensors to support project objectives.
• Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate teamwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
• Lab experience is a plus.
• Experience with scripting software languages.
• Proficient in electronic troubleshooting of digital and analog electronics.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Leadership and project management skills are desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical writing.

Nice to Have

• Experience in signal processing.
• Knowledge of data collection techniques from imaging sensors.
• Previous experience in a QA & Testing role.
