HR Leave of Absence Specialist - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Leave of Absence Specialist - Remote to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting employees during their leave of absence and ensuring smooth communication between HR and employees.
What You'll Do
- Manage the leave of absence process from start to finish, including FMLA and ADA accommodations.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding their leave options and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements related to leave administration.
- Coordinate with medical providers and insurance companies for leave verification and documentation.
- Utilize HRIS systems to track and manage leave requests efficiently.
- Conduct training sessions for managers on leave policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with care.
- Collaborate with the HR team to improve leave management processes and employee support initiatives.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field; SHRM Certification preferred.
- At least three years of HR-related experience, particularly in leave administration.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and HR compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic support to employees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Workday or similar HR software is a plus.
