Health and Safety Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Specialist to join TAP Air Portugal in a remote capacity. In this role, you will promote a safer, healthier, and more balanced work environment where every employee feels protected and valued. As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will identify, assess, and control workplace risks, driving continuous improvement in working conditions while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

What You'll Do

• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and internal standards, guaranteeing adherence to applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee health and safety audits conducted by our internal services, analyzing reports and coordinating the implementation of improvement actions.
• Conduct regular workplace visits to identify risk situations and ensure compliance with preventive measures.
• Perform professional risk assessments, proposing and monitoring appropriate prevention and protection measures.
• Prepare technical reports, prevention plans, opinions, and statistical analyses related to health and safety.
• Promote and develop health and safety campaigns focused on workplace accident rates.
• Analyze workplace accidents, identify causes, and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Supervise compliance with regulations regarding the prevention and control of psychoactive substance consumption, ensuring the application of internal standards and legal requirements.
• Plan and monitor contingency plans, ensuring their updating and effectiveness in various scenarios.
• Conduct training, information, and awareness actions in health and safety, reinforcing the safety culture within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in fields related to Health and Safety, such as Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering (preferably with interest or additional training in health and safety).
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• 5+ years of experience as a Health and Safety Specialist or in similar roles.

Nice to Have

• Higher Technical Certification in Occupational Safety (level V/VI).
• Experience in similar positions.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard - ISO 45001.
