About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Technology remote to join Drifter, a growing hospitality group designed for curious travelers and free spirits. As the Head of Technology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology direction and ensuring its effective implementation across our operations in Australia and New Zealand.

What You'll Do

  • Own and deliver the Group technology roadmap, aligning it with business goals.
  • Lead system selection, implementation, and optimization across operations, finance, HR, and guest-facing platforms.
  • Ensure new systems are implemented effectively, focusing on strong change management and user adoption.
  • Oversee IT operations across properties and head office, including infrastructure, access, and support.
  • Drive integrations that reduce manual work and improve data flow.
  • Own the Group’s cybersecurity approach, data protection, and technology risk management.
  • Manage technology vendors, partners, and budgets with a commercial mindset.
  • Translate technical decisions into clear, practical advice for non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a senior technology leadership role (Head of Technology, Head of IT, Technology Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of APIs, system architecture, data pipelines, and automation.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, practical technology strategy.
  • Experience delivering technology change in real-world environments, focusing on quality implementation and adoption.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and technology risk.
  • Commercial, pragmatic mindset with strong prioritization skills.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, evolving environments with competing priorities.
  • A genuine interest in technology that enhances user experience for teams and guests.
