About the Role

We are seeking a Head of People Operations to join our innovative team at Aztec. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead our global People function as we expand our operations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture and enhancing the employee experience across our diverse team of 80 individuals located in 14 countries.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute the company-wide People strategy, reporting directly to the COO.
  • Lead a dedicated People team of three, providing coaching and development to drive high performance.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to ensure effective day-to-day People operations.
  • Oversee core areas of the People function including talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, guiding decision-making and organizational design.
  • Collaborate with Finance on headcount forecasting and compensation governance.
  • Ensure compliance with global employment laws in partnership with Legal.
  • Drive optimization of People systems and workflows for efficiency and actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a People leader at the Head of People level in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Strong track record in scaling People functions across distributed teams.
  • Ability to switch between strategic and hands-on roles effectively.
  • Values-driven leader known for integrity and building trust.
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, particularly with Finance and Legal.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity with sound judgment and prioritization.
  • Data-driven, organized, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in decentralized or hybrid organizational models.
  • Familiarity with Web3 or blockchain technology.
  • Experience leading teams through rapid growth or organizational transformation.
  • Knowledge of employment practices across multiple jurisdictions.
