About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Compliance to join our team at Crypto.com. This remote role is crucial for ensuring that we maintain compliance with local laws and regulations across Europe. As the Head of Compliance, you will architect and lead our regulatory compliance program, ensuring alignment with evolving fintech and digital asset regulations.
What You'll Do
- Lead compliance as a strategic enabler of growth, positioning Crypto.com as a trusted innovator in global digital finance.
- Build and oversee a regional compliance function that spans key EU regulations including MiCA, EMI, DORA, and CARF.
- Translate global compliance strategy into regional execution, ensuring consistent frameworks across business units.
- Drive automation through RegTech and AI-enabled controls to enhance monitoring, risk analytics, and reporting.
- Provide timely, data-driven compliance reports and strategic recommendations to the Executive Committee and Board.
- Assist with license application processes in various jurisdictions within Europe, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulators, leading inspections and policy reviews.
- Manage internal compliance operational controls, carry out control testing, and identify regulatory risks.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within fintech, VASP, or payments.
- Must meet the "Fit and Proper" criteria set by the MFSA and be eligible for approval as a Key Function Holder.
- Demonstrable knowledge of EU regulatory regimes, including MiCA, EMIR, DORA, and AMLD 6.
- Ability to distill important information from regulatory guidance and determine its impact on the company.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Proven track record of leading multi-jurisdictional teams and managing cross-border regulatory relationships.
- Strategic thinker fluent in regulatory language and technology transformation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with RegTech solutions and AI in compliance.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency regulations and compliance challenges.
- Familiarity with compliance training and policy development.
