Global Head of Middle Office - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Global Head of Middle Office to join our team at Kraken, a fully remote opportunity that allows you to lead our institutional trading and lending operations. As the Global Head of Middle Office, you will play a crucial role in overseeing post-trade processes across settlement, reconciliation, and inventory management. This position is designed for someone with a strong background in middle office operations and a passion for the crypto industry.

What You'll Do

• Lead and scale Kraken’s institutional middle office, owning the design, implementation, and optimization of processes supporting Kraken Prime, OTC, and lending activities.
• Oversee a global team responsible for trade capture, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Build the operational backbone that enables Kraken to scale securely and efficiently for institutional flows.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), control frameworks, and escalation protocols to ensure operational integrity.
• Drive inventory optimization and balance management across digital asset and fiat inventories.
• Collaborate with front-office, finance, and technology teams to enhance systems and automate workflows.
• Build an operational environment that meets the expectations of top-tier institutional counterparties.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in middle office, trading operations, or settlements within a trading firm, OTC desk, or traditional financial institution.
• Deep understanding of trade lifecycle management, settlement flows, and reconciliations.
• Proven ability to design and scale operational processes in fast-paced financial environments.
• Strong grasp of counterparty settlement processes and reconciliation tools across digital assets and traditional markets.
• Experience managing digital asset or securities inventories across multiple venues and custodians.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with OTC crypto trading desks or custody platforms.
• Exposure to prime brokerage, collateral management, or repo financing.
• Familiarity with digital asset custody and blockchain settlement.
