About the Role

Gardens Interactive is seeking a talented Gameplay Designer (Creatures) - Remote to join our innovative team. In this role, you will shape the heart of our game worlds by designing engaging creatures that enhance player interaction. What You'll Do

• Prototype, iterate, and maintain creature behaviors for both combat and non-combat scenarios.
• Implement and maintain creature behaviors using Unreal Behavior Trees and Blackboards.
• Collaborate with engineers, artists, animators, and audio designers to create immersive experiences.
• Balance and tune difficulty and behavior for engaging encounters.
• Advocate for the player experience to ensure fun creature interactions.
• Partner with Animation to tune movement sets and pathfinding logic.
• Understand multiplayer play to create engaging creatures that enhance gameplay.
• Conduct playtesting and iterate based on feedback to improve creature interactions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine, particularly with Behavior Trees and Blueprints.
• Familiarity with the Gameplay Ability System (GAS) in Unreal Engine.
• Strong collaboration skills and clear communication abilities.
• Proven playtesting and iteration habits.
• Ability to balance and tune creature behaviors for engaging player experiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience in game design focused on creature mechanics.
• Knowledge of horticulture or gardening themes.
• Previous work in multiplayer game environments.
