Founding Frontend Software Engineer - Transforming Construction Tech

About the Role

We're hiring a Founding Frontend Software Engineer to join our innovative team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the frontend foundations of a high-growth startup in the construction technology sector. As a Founding Frontend Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in modernizing a $12 trillion global industry, transforming outdated software into user-friendly, efficient solutions.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship frontend experiences for new products, including AP Automation and Vendor Management.
• Refactor and modernize existing frontend code to improve performance, maintainability, and developer velocity.
• Collaborate with backend engineers and product managers to translate real-world customer workflows into scalable UI.
• Establish and evolve frontend patterns, components, and best practices across the platform.
• Own end-to-end implementation of user-facing features, from early concepts to production-ready interfaces.
• Solve complex technical challenges, including unifying fragmented systems and optimizing APIs for millions of daily requests.
• Innovate scalable testing frameworks and caching layers to enhance operational excellence.

Requirements

• 3 – 10 years of experience building user-facing web applications with a strong frontend focus.
• Experience in early-stage startups (Seed to Series C) or top-tier mobile app companies (e.g., Duolingo, Hinge).
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as React, TypeScript, and MobX.
• Strong product sensibility and understanding of UX best practices.
• Computer Science undergraduate degree from a top 25 US/Canada school preferred.

Nice to Have

• Full-stack experience appreciated, but the role is frontend-heavy.
• Experience building customer-facing or data-intensive SaaS products.
