Founding Engineer - AI/​ML Focus (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Founding Engineer to join our innovative team at Cardinal. This role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while building AI-driven solutions that power precision outbound sales for a rapidly growing number of Y Combinator-backed companies. As a Founding Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing core AI agents and infrastructure, making a significant impact on our product and customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build AI agents that discover hyper-targeted leads by analyzing customer profiles and engagement signals.
• Create real-time content monitoring systems to track prospects' activities across social media platforms.
• Implement multi-channel sequence orchestration across email and LinkedIn, managing multiple sender accounts.
• Develop enrichment pipelines to validate emails and gather company data at scale.
• Design polished user interfaces that simplify complex outbound workflows for sales teams.

Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience in building production systems and user-facing features.
• Full-stack expertise with strong skills in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Python.
• Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Ability to engage with customers to identify their pain points and deliver effective solutions.
• High agency and proactive problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML technologies, particularly in prompt engineering or building AI agents.
• Familiarity with sales tech, CRM systems, or growth engineering.
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Supabase/PostgreSQL, or Redis.
• Prior startup experience or a background in building successful B2B SaaS products.
• Strong design sense to create user-friendly interfaces.
