About the Role

Join The a2 Milk Company as a Food Safety Manager in a remote capacity, where you will play a vital role in shaping our food safety culture. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and third-party manufacturers to enhance our food safety standards and practices.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and maintain food safety standards and compliance requirements across The a2 Milk Company.
  • Develop and implement food safety strategies, programs, and governance frameworks that ensure zero food safety defects.
  • Provide technical expertise on food safety requirements for all products and projects.
  • Lead the development of pre-HACCP assessments for innovations and improvements to mitigate various hazards.
  • Support factories and third-party manufacturers in resolving food safety issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain and operations.
  • Institutionalize standard routines and verify effective implementation with factories and 3PMs.
  • Design and deliver training programs to uplift food safety capability across the organization.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of food processing, food safety systems, and current GMP.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide teams.
  • Strong capability with problem-solving tools and structured investigation methods.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and leading HACCP studies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in infant nutrition or closely regulated nutrition categories.
  • Strong working knowledge of Pre-requisite Programs, Zoning, and Pathogen Monitoring.
