Finance Apprentice - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Finance Apprentice remote position at The King's Trust, starting September 2026. This role is perfect for individuals looking to kickstart their careers in finance while gaining valuable hands-on experience. As a Finance Apprentice, you will rotate through various functions including statutory reporting, management accounts, suppliers and payments, invoicing, and debtors. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract with the potential for a permanent position.

What You'll Do

• Participate in a comprehensive training program to learn about finance and accounting.
• Assist with statutory reporting and management accounts to support financial operations.
• Manage suppliers and payments, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
• Support month-end and year-end processes to maintain accurate financial records.
• Study for the Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting qualification one day a week.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
• Demonstrate attention to detail in all financial tasks.
• Engage in personal development opportunities through various networks within the organization.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• GCSE English and Maths (Level 4 or A-C grade) or equivalent.
• No previous work experience required; this role is designed for beginners.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to adapt to new IT systems and processes.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program.
• Interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting.

Nice to Have

• Experience in volunteer work or community service.
• Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
