Finance Apprentice - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are excited to offer a Finance Apprentice remote position at The King's Trust, starting September 2026. This role is perfect for individuals looking to kickstart their careers in finance while gaining valuable hands-on experience. As a Finance Apprentice, you will rotate through various functions including statutory reporting, management accounts, suppliers and payments, invoicing, and debtors. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract with the potential for a permanent position.
What You'll Do
- Participate in a comprehensive training program to learn about finance and accounting.
- Assist with statutory reporting and management accounts to support financial operations.
- Manage suppliers and payments, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
- Support month-end and year-end processes to maintain accurate financial records.
- Study for the Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting qualification one day a week.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
- Demonstrate attention to detail in all financial tasks.
- Engage in personal development opportunities through various networks within the organization.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- GCSE English and Maths (Level 4 or A-C grade) or equivalent.
- No previous work experience required; this role is designed for beginners.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to adapt to new IT systems and processes.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program.
- Interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting.
Nice to Have
- Experience in volunteer work or community service.
- Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
