Executive Director of Financial Reporting and Governance - Remote

We’re hiring an Executive Director of Financial Reporting and Governance to join our team at CIBC. What You'll Do
- Lead the Financial Reporting and Governance teams to ensure objectives are met and performance reviews are conducted.
- Oversee the financial reporting cycle for Europe, including financial statements and regulatory reporting.
- Manage the general ledger close process, ensuring integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Implement effective controls in line with SOX requirements and monitor operational risk management activities.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager with key stakeholders across Europe, including Internal Audit and Compliance.
- Participate in projects and initiatives as directed by the Executive Director, Head of External Reporting.
- Provide ad hoc information requirements to the regional CFO and Head of Europe as needed.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and support team members in resolving operational challenges.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting within investment banking.
- Strong people management skills and the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data manipulation functions.
- Outstanding analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with Essbase and corporate general ledger systems is highly desired.
- Ability to evaluate and influence new proposals effectively.
- Proven track record in enhancing controls and reporting requirements.
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with financial consulting and internal auditing.
- Knowledge of governance reporting standards.
