Engineering Manager - Identity & Access Management (IAM) Remote

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our new Identity & Access Management (IAM) product team at Tines. This remote Engineering Manager position offers you the chance to lead a talented team while ensuring Tines remains a great place for engineers to thrive. You will be responsible for building and operating product features related to user identity and lifecycle management, login and authentication, authorization and access control, and secure handling of user-managed credentials.

What You'll Do

• Manage a software engineering team of 4-6 engineers, fostering a culture of inclusion, ambition, and collaboration.
• Support the growth and development of engineers through regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
• Work with colleagues across departments to plan and prioritize projects, breaking them down into manageable tasks and milestones.
• Facilitate effective communication between your team and other Product & Engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical discussions while preserving autonomy for engineers.
• Help make our engineering processes effective and efficient.
• Attract and recruit great engineers to our team.
• Maintain technical familiarity through direct work on smaller engineering tasks.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of software management experience in an engineering management or team lead role, ideally at a SaaS company.
• Strong IAM domain knowledge and experience building secure, scalable identity and access control systems for cloud-based applications.
• A strong track record as a software engineer, with familiarity in technologies such as Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, Docker, and AWS.
• Ability to support engineers and weigh in on technical decisions, even without making significant code contributions.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn are valued over formal education.

Nice to Have

• Experience in leading remote teams.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
