Engineering Manager - Cloud (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager - Cloud (Remote) to lead a new squad within our Cloud Engineering team at Dataiku. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of AI by guiding a team of engineers in a dynamic and innovative environment. As an Engineering Manager, you will focus on balancing technical leadership with team scalability, ensuring that our engineering standards align with business goals.

What You'll Do

• Technical Leadership: Lead high-leverage contributions such as architecture design, complex code reviews, and managing technical debt. Ensure that technical implementations align with our long-term vision.
• Team Building & Growth: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and career development for your team, including performance reviews and growth plans.
• Active Technical Contribution: Maintain a presence in the codebase by working on non-critical path features, ensuring the team has the right technical foundation to move quickly.
• Delivery Management: Collaborate with Product to translate roadmaps into actionable features while driving for an ambitious yet sustainable team velocity.
• Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a key stakeholder in the Cloud organization, collaborating with SRE, Product, and other Engineering Managers to build the roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, particularly with technologies such as Python, Kubernetes, and Vue.js.
• Proven experience in mentoring engineers and providing constructive feedback to foster growth.
• Ability to navigate cross-team relationships effectively to unblock your team.
• Experience in aligning technical decisions with business value and broader initiatives.
• Familiarity with data platforms and observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS and orchestrating Dataiku DSS instances.
• Prior experience in a SaaS environment.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques.
