Electrical Engineer - Military Communication Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer (remote) to join our team at Kägwerks, where we design and develop rugged, tactical operator-worn communications technologies. This role is crucial for enhancing connectivity and integrated secure networking for military applications. As an Electrical Engineer (remote), you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of electronic systems for our military communication products.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design and development of ruggedized electronic systems, subsystems, and embedded hardware for military applications.
  • Design circuit boards, including schematic design and layout.
  • Select components, evaluate alternatives, and ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in prototype bring-up, debugging, and verification testing.
  • Assist in preparing and executing environmental, EMI/EMC, and qualification testing to relevant military standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful system integration.
  • Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions for electrical issues.
  • Occasional travel for testing, field evaluations, or supplier visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in electrical embedded system design including circuit board design.
  • Experience with EE design tools such as Altium, Cadence, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • US citizenship or green card is required.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations, environmental testing, and ruggedized hardware design.
  • Familiarity with high-speed digital design techniques.
  • Background in secure communications, sensor systems, or ground vehicle electronics.
