Doctoral Student in Comparative Neuroscience - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Doctoral Student in Comparative Neuroscience to join our research team at the University of Lausanne. This remote opportunity allows you to engage in groundbreaking research on thermosensory circuits in nematodes, specifically focusing on the differences in behavior between Caenorhabditis elegans and C. tropicalis. What You'll Do

• Design and conduct experiments related to thermosensory circuits.
• Handle experimental documentation, data management, and analysis.
• Contribute to lab culture by participating in discussions and journal clubs.
• Communicate results through presentations at lab meetings, conferences, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with team members on various research projects.

Requirements

• A completed MSc in neuroscience, molecular biology, ecology and evolution, bioinformatics, data science, or a related field.
• Previous experience with C. elegans, calcium imaging, genetics, molecular biology, programming (Python), and data analysis/visualization is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong teamwork abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to develop new skills and contribute to innovative research.

Nice to Have

• Experience in behavioral analysis and experimental design.
• Familiarity with statistical software and data visualization tools.
