Director of Finance - Remote Position

About the Role

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Director of Finance - Remote to lead our financial operations and support our mission of providing innovative education solutions. As a Director of Finance remote position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our growing portfolio of K-12 charter schools.

What You'll Do

• Develop operational strategies to meet financial targets.
• Lead and mentor a team of FP&A Partners, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Track performance metrics, including KPIs and financial statement analysis.
• Design and oversee operational and financial models to ensure accuracy.
• Drive process improvements for business segment planning and execution.
• Act as a key contact for various departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
• Perform additional tasks and projects as required to support the organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in finance, including modeling and decision support.
• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or MS in Business Analytics preferred.
• Leadership experience in a multi-unit environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills with business leaders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in converting complex data into meaningful insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial applications.
• Experience with financial software like Workday Adaptive Insight is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey financial information.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the education sector or with charter schools.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance in education finance.
• Certifications such as CFA or CPA.
