About the Role

Epic Games is seeking a talented Design Director for Battle Pass to join our innovative team. This Design Director remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the vision for Fortnite's Battle Pass and other themed products. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of interactive entertainment while collaborating with a diverse team of professionals.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design vision for Fortnite's Battle Pass, ensuring a cohesive and engaging player experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Game Design, UX/UI, Production, Art, and QA to drive product success.
• Establish goals and outcomes for the Battle Pass product, focusing on player engagement and monetization strategies.
• Guide the design efforts for progression systems, rewards, and unlock mechanics in collaboration with UX/UI and Product partners.
• Monitor player engagement and provide feedback to enhance the XP system, ensuring a balanced and enjoyable experience.
• Attend playtests and actively engage with the live game to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Utilize your analytical skills to work with Data Scientists and Analysts to align product goals with player data.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to continually enhance the Battle Pass experience.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in game design, particularly in overseeing pass-type engagement systems.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with data streams to inform design decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams.
• Deep understanding of progression and monetization systems in PC, Console, and Mobile games.
• Proven ability to empathize with players and understand their motivations and gameplay experiences.
• Interest in multiplayer games and an understanding of effective progression products.

• Experience with subscription models in gaming.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine and its applications in game design.
