About the Role

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer for Energy Storage Systems to join our team. This role is critical in enhancing our controls design and software development capabilities, focusing on scalable system architecture and supporting commissioning across live projects. As a Controls Engineer remote, you will have a significant impact on our energy storage initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Revise existing engineering drawings and control programs to improve scalability of control packages.
  • Focus on coding, testing, and designing systems initially.
  • Design control systems in AutoCAD, including controller selection and electrical schematics.
  • Program and configure control systems within a modern SCADA environment.
  • Manage third-party engineering relationships during the transition phase.
  • Participate in on-site commissioning and own testing and validation processes.
  • Develop long-term ownership of system design standards, test plans, and commissioning documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Ignition SCADA.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience in SCADA work and RTAC/PLC programming.
  • Exposure to Python and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in energy storage.
  • EMS or BMS controls experience.
  • Networking knowledge (switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Software engineering background in a modern development environment.
  • Exposure to commissioning, testing, and validation processes.
