Controls Engineer - Automation Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team at SSI Schäfer. As a Controls Engineer remote, you will play a central role in every project phase, ensuring success from initial sales discussions to final acceptance tests on-site. What You'll Do

• Develop software for automation systems, including PLCs and microcontrollers.
• Conduct in-house tests using simulation tools to validate system performance.
• Perform on-site commissioning of control systems at customer locations.
• Execute coupling and integration tests to ensure seamless operation.
• Support availability, mass, and acceptance tests to meet project specifications.

Requirements

• Technical degree or Bachelor's in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of electrical engineering, bus systems (e.g., PROFINET), and drive technology.
• Experience programming with Siemens TIA Portal, preferably in SCL.
• Willingness to travel globally (minimum 50%, including allowances).
• Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
• Independent, structured, and goal-oriented working style.
• Good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
