CNC Machinist/​Programmer - Remote Opportunity with SpaceX

About the Role

Join SpaceX as a CNC Machinist/Programmer in a remote capacity, where you'll play a pivotal role in the development of the Starlink project. This position focuses on fabricating and programming CNC machinery to support the production of cutting-edge satellite technology. As a CNC Machinist/Programmer (remote), you will collaborate closely with engineers to innovate and improve production processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality components for our satellite systems.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate electromechanical production and test systems using a wide array of tools, machines, and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver solutions that enhance the Starlink assembly lines.
• Work creatively to fabricate components using mills, lathes, welding, and CNC processes.
• Assemble complex integrated assemblies, including mechanical precision assembly and wiring.
• Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to complete assembly and fabrication processes.
• Maintain and support the operation of the development shop by enforcing proper workflow and safety protocols.
• Promote 5S principles to sustain an efficient and organized workspace.
• Challenge the status quo and develop innovative solutions to improve production efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical fabrication, including CNC machining and assembly.
• Experience reading mechanical and engineering drawings, with knowledge of GD&T.
• Working knowledge of wiring best practices and safety standards.
• Familiarity with electromechanical systems, including harness wiring and actuators.
• Able to work independently and solve problems efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
